Easel!

At long last we assembled and erected the easel that Ivy's Mommom got her for Christmas. It is a hit! This is her second afternoon painting. Painting also entails pouring water, mopping it up with some paper towels and singing about pouring water and mopping it up with paper towels. It is an exercise in letting go for me, water spills, painty fingers, a 5 second picture followed by another 5 second painting and another. She is doing well though, and hopefully we will work up to some more stamina so the set-up time/play time ratio evens itself out. And when I was little I would paint and paint until each and every picture was brown, so at least we aren't having that problem!

Pictures to follow.

You can't know how much I love your blogging reports on Ivy, Scott and you, Jame!
I would love to witness the painting. She's taking after Grandmother Cara, I think!

Love,
Auntie A.

Oh yes, I remember dreading gearing up for painting at the easel, all the mess.... But the girls were always so proud and happy, and the mess was never as bad as I imagined, and the colorful paintings rotating through plexiglass frames made everyone feel good.
