Oomph

Ivy has not napped for the past two days. Yesterday it was totally my fault. I woke her up after she had been asleep for fifteen minutes by crawling in bed with her. It could have been heaven... Actually it turned out nicely because she fell asleep by 7:30 and Scott and I ate dinner uninterrupted (save for the episode of 30Rock that we watched). Today at school she didn't nap either, she and her pal Farrah were apparently too busy rolling around and giggling. Luckily we had something fun to fill the afternoon and she was in a happy mood. Scott is putting her to bed now and the Jambalaya is simmering away. If I have my druthers we will eat in bed, covered up, fireplace roaring (as much as a gas fireplace can roar). It is freezing in our house so I feel like I owe it to the planet to all be in one heat zone and let the downstairs go dormant for the night. Mind you I would never deprive her of her nap on purpose but if she doesn't nap, I am perfectly willing to reap the benefits!

Now on to cars. The great carless experiment has come to a screeching halt. We are shopping for a car because a) it wasn't this cold last winter b) the novelty of being carless made up for the inconvenience c)we are getting wimpy d) we did it for a year and that is pretty impressive e) Phillycarshare raised their rates and has fewer cars and the whole thing pretty much stinks f) I am a fancy lady and demand to be treated as such. So we went test driving, once avec bebe and once sans Ivy. We have narrowed it down to a used Volvo V70, any comments positive or negative would be appreciated.

After having a sexy raspy voice for the last couple of days, I am now sneezing and pretty sure I am getting a little cold. I am not bothered except that I am a little unclear about rules of engagement involving toddlers and colds. Do you stay sequestered? Do you expose everyone to your sniffles? What are the time lines? I am unclear really about colds in general, when they spread, why they don't always spread to the person you sneezed on etc.

Thanks Krista for bullying me into posting, I needed it!

I don't know about a V70, but you will remember how much your grandmother LOVED her Volvo!
Feel better fast, Jame.

That wasn't bullying. It was a gentle reminder! (And only because I so enjoy hearing what you have to say!)
