Birdseed and sugar

I saw these cute little clusters of birdseed shaped like eggs with a string in them for hanging in a catalog. They were presented in a cute little egg carton and I thought, why pay $35 for this when I can MAKE them? Okay, so how do I get the birdseed to stick? I tried a simple syrup, it is still firming up in the fridge, but my hopes are not high. I originally thought suet, but thought it would be oily. Ditto with Peanut butter. Any ideas on how to get the small pellets to a)form a solid cluster b) be edible to birds c) hold a little twine and hang for a moment to be adored before being devoured by ravenous chickadees d) not cause me too much angst. Any and all suggestions are very welcome.

It just occurred to me that a picture being worth a thousand words could do great things for my blog. But now that I am writing it I am having deja drew. Have I posted an identical story? I am now thinking so... Anyway, here are some cute pictures of the girl.

Is Deja drew funny? I started off writing Deja writ but then that didn't rhyme and I thought drew was close enough to wrote or typed that it would be funny but maybe not. I really want to know because I need to keep my sense of humor right on track, if I am faltering, I should know it.

We are having the darndest time getting a good Christmas Card picture, nobody is cooperating this year and I am starting to get discouraged. Hopefully tomorrow will bring the kodak fairies to our house at just the right time in just the right light with just the right amount of oatmeal in Ivy's bangs to hold them out of her eyes without appearing to be plastered...
