I don't know where all this positivity is coming from lately but I am overflowing with it! Ivy skipped into her room last night announcing "Time to brush my choppers!" What kid brings up the subject of teeth brushing? Today we played with our dear friends Piper and Anna and new baby Caleb. Ivy is in love! She talks in a completely different voice to him, it is high pitched and sweet. After sitting next to a nursing Caleb, nursing her own baby, she needed to hold him. Anna hinted that he might like her to sing him a song and so she sang the sweetest version of I've been workin' on the railroad you ever did hear! I almost melted into a puddle on the floor. She is so gentle and so kind, if I whack my knee on the corner of the bed, for example, she asks if I am okay and asks if I need her to rub it.
She and her friend Farrah told a story about some chocolate treats served at school the other morning, and their friend Scarlett confirmed the rumor, in a separate room, under a separate interrogation light. Do you think I would be out of line to inquire about the circumstances surrounding the cocoa treat? I am fine with a birthday celebration here and there but this sounds like everyone was bored and someone found a bag of chocolate chips! The good news is (there goes that positivity again) that I am not in the least bit afraid to talk to someone about it. I know I am a little unconventional when it comes to my daughter's diet, but I thought it was generally agreed upon that two year old's shouldn't be having chocolate... in the morning.
After one afternoon of on line shopping, I am 1/3 of the way finished, I think. That's not too bad, huh? Check out Uncommongoods.com and by me almost anything you find there, just kidding!
Since I haven't been seeing much of Scott lately, what with his 16 hour work days and all, my trusty hound has been keeping me company and is now snoring beside me. Poor guy, he does get the raw end of the deal, but moments like this, I hope make it worth his while to live here. Oh how he does love to run out in the country... some day, pooch!
